Working Insurance

Postby Lena » Fri Jul 18, 2014 2:35 am

Hi there, I am looking for an insurance plan that will cover me during my IEC stay in Canada (work & travel), as well as include travel insurance worldwide. I am 30 and have no pre-existing conditions.

Hello!
How long will you be staying in Canada?

At least 12 months, but since I am planning on applying for permanent residence, I will probably be covered by OHIP after the first year. I have coverage from a German company until the end of Oct 2014.

so you would need the insurance from October and for a year?
If you get provincial coverage during the year and you had no claim, you will be able to get the remaining money back.
This type of insurance covers you all over Canada and on side trips anywhere but home country.
The lowest quotes for one year would be $876 for $50,000 coverage.

Ok. Is 50,000 usually enough?

Well, we recommend between $50,000 to $100,000 coverage. For $100,000 it would cost $1091 for one year.
